We've put together some cool widgets for you to play around with, as well as given you access to our Exclusive Pro Calculator. Please note: our official quotes come through email, so the calculators on this site are for informational purposes only. Happy calculating!
We designed this simple calculator to give you a rough idea of what your move might cost. It is based on nationwide averages for typical dwelling sizes, and is very accurate in that regard. However, the most accurate quote you can receive will come from one of our expert evaluators. Official quotes follow a detailed process using sophisticated software and oodles of expertise. You can start your official quote with our Pro Calculator (a little further down the page), or you can call, email, or text message us anytime.
This calculator is the same software our booking agents use to estimate moves. It converts move conditions and furniture values into time, volume, and weight. It is the industry standard, and is calibrated using nationwide averages for furniture size and weight, as well as crew efficiency. It can be very accurate, or highly inaccurate, depending on how much information you are willing to put into it. Our agents are standing by to assist you, if you prefer an over the phone or on-site evaluation (OSE). Good luck!
Did you know we provide Real Estate Services, in addition to moving? We are like a one-stop shop for all your relocation needs. Whether you are buying or selling, we can get you on the right path.
As with every bit of information you find on this site, the answers in this FAQ section should be regarded as conversation starters. The success of any move has a direct correlation to the amount and quality of the communication shared between parties.
Local moves are billed by an Hourly Rate plus Travel Charge (aka Truck Fee). The Hourly Rate is prorated to the quarter hour, and the local Travel Charge is a one time fee. Long Distance jobs are calculated primarily by weight, among other factors. All Long Distance jobs must evaluated in person by one of our experienced estimators. All of our pricing will be disclosed on an official quote prior to signing a contract with us.
At a minimum, 2 weeks. We recommend booking a month in advance, especially during the summer months. If you live in a large home, or have a large office to move, you should make initial contact with potential movers 60 days in advance. Selecting the right company takes time, and formulating a move strategy should never be rushed. You don't have to contract with a company until you are sure of the date, and have full confidence in that company. You should, however, strike up the conversation as soon as possible.
Very hard to say without an in-depth analysis, but in-depth analysis is our schtick. For run of the mill local moves, an hour per room is a good baseline. Keep in mind this includes any disassembly/assembly (D/A), furniture prep (blanketing and plastic wrapping), loading, unloading, placement, and a hint of the usual indecisiveness from the shipper. Our favorite thing next to executing flawless moves (which we do, quite often), is to give accurate quotes. This is why we've invested many thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours into developing a software based system that can calculate your move to within a quarter hour discrepancy. If we have all the facts pertaining to your move,we can give you an eerily accurate estimate. The only reason we still charge by the hour is, well, people change their mind.
We won't beat around the bush on this one. The answer is: more expensive than if you were to procure them yourself. Unfortunately, the cost of materials fluctuates too much for us to publish them on our website. However, we are happy to send you the current pricing list at the time of your booking. This is another benefit of booking in advance - you can lock in your packing material prices, as well as your current rates (yes, our rates do fluctuate, as well).
