What Sets Us Apart

Moving Buddies is a locally owned, family operated, full service moving and packing company.

We service Tucson and the surrounding areas (Vail, Sahuarita, Oro Valley, Marana, Green Valley), as well as the entire state of Arizona. Fully licensed, bonded, and fully insured (USDOT 2326755).

We have a state-of-the-art furniture repair and refinishing workshop, which we mostly use for private antique furniture restoration projects. We also build custom shipping crates (We had to come up with other things to do with our shop since we rarely see damages to our cargo).

We carry General Liability Insurance, Commercial Vehicle Insurance, Comprehensive Cargo Insurance, and Worker’s Compensation Insurance. It is the bulk of our expenses, and legitimate moving companies are required to have it – per the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

We don’t hire applicants; we qualify candidates, then certify technicians.

Our interview process consists of technical aptitude, physical endurance/conditioning, and problem solving ability testing, before entering a probationary field tryout phase. At Moving Buddies we believe that having prior moving company experience may or may not constitute a repertoire of bad habits, so we value fundamental skillsets and exhibited potential over a resume. Many of our highest rated movers have never worked for any other moving companies. All of our movers are permanent, bonded employees, and enter our program with a starting pay that is higher than the maximum wage ever achieved by the CEO of this company – a 20 year transportation industry veteran with over 5,000 completed relocation jobs under his belt.


The guiding principal at Moving Buddies is a customer 2nd mentality. Our primary focus is our movers. We believe that if our movers are not content, it will not be possible to deliver the standard of service that is our claim to fame. This is an extremely difficult job (if it was easy, there wouldn’t be an industry), and for any human being to weather the storm that is relocation on a daily basis – their heads and their hearts must be in the game. We treat our movers with dignity, respect, and admiration. We learn from our guys and gals, and let their voices be heard. We afford them every tool, every advantage, and every consideration they need to fulfill their duties beyond our customers wildest expectations.

We’re just gonna go ahead and issue the challenge here and now: How can anybody compete if they can’t even match our equipment?
