Our coverage options are in-house protection plans that are backed by our General Liability, and Cargo Insurance Policies. Neither plan offers full purchase value reimbursement. Please keep in mind that it is illegal for ANY moving company to underwrite, broker, or sell insurance policies due to an obvious conflict of interest. What we are offering you is the default valuation ($0.60/lb.) that is mandated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), or the Enhanced Coverage Option, which is a binding agreement between you and Moving Buddies that outlines a Repair or Depreciated Value Replacement.
Moving Buddies Protection Agreement
Moving Buddies is committed to providing our customers with the highest level of property protection. It is our opinion that a declared rate of reimbursement ($0.60/lb., for example) should be the last resort as a means to resolve claims. It is our strong belief that our crews are as committed to safety and performance as anyone who has a stake in this company. Their discipline and intelligence virtually eliminates the occurrence of claims, and allows Moving Buddies to commit more resources to the claims resolution process. In the event of damages to property, incurred through the moving process, we will initiate the Moving Buddies Protection Plan in this order: (with purchase of Carrier Pack/Household Goods (HHG) Enhanced Coverage Protection Upgrade)
A. Determine whether Moving Buddies handling was the cause of the damage reported. Movers will make an effort to identify and declare (to the shipper) any apparent, pre-existing damages. If the item in question was not declared to have damages we will continue with the claims resolution process. We will not assume liability for any boxes, containers, or bags that were packed by the shipper.
B. Repair property that was determined to have been damaged by us. If the damage is superficial we will employ on-site repair techniques. If the damage cannot be repaired on-site we will transport the item (at earliest mutual convenience) to a repair shop, and pay for their services.
C. Replace property that was determined to have been damaged by us. If we failed to repair the damaged item to your satisfaction we will replace it with a comparable item from a consignment store. We will not replace the purchase value of any item. Moving Buddies will keep the damaged item as part of the exchange.
D. Offer a refund or bill credit. Moving Buddies may attempt to offer reasonable compensation at any point during the claims resolution process. You are not obligated to accept the offer.
E. Issue default reimbursement. If all of Moving Buddies resolution attempts were unsuccessful we will opt to reimburse the customer for damages to their property at the rate of $0.60/lb.

________ I understand that any boxes, bags, containers, luggage, or drawer contents (etc.) not packed by Moving Buddies will not be covered by this agreement.
________ I understand that I am shipping any ceramic, clay, terra cotta, and other kiln-fired or baked pottery at my own risk, and that I will not receive ANY compensation for damages to items of such composition.
_________I understand that I am shipping any press-board, particle-board, plywood, laminate, MDF, and veneered furniture at my own risk, and that I will not receive ANY compensation for damages to items of such composition.
_________I understand that I am shipping any musical instruments (including pianos, guitars, drum sets, etc.), and any electronic items (TV’s, computers, stereo systems, etc.) at my own risk, and these items will not be covered by this agreement.
Notice: Moving Buddies will take legal action against suspected abuse of this agreement, i.e. false claims, feigned dissatisfaction, and exaggeration of value. Also: By disallowing movers to employ safety preparation techniques (padding and wrapping) you risk losing the benefits described in this agreement. Moving Buddies Indemnity Agreement
_________I understand that an estimate is not a binding fixed-rate. I understand that the estimate I was given is based on information submitted by myself or an authorized representative. I agree to pay my bill in full immediately after services are rendered, regardless of any discrepancy between the estimate and the actual cost, or pending claims.
_________I agree to resolve any, and all disputes with Moving Buddies through a qualified arbitration service of mutual approval before filing a complaint with any agency—government or otherwise.
_________I understand that Moving Buddies will prosecute all cases of slander/libel. I understand that posting a dishonest review online or in print constitutes slander/libel.
_________I understand that it is my responsibility to procure any lease agreements, titling, and general access to dwellings, and (or) facilities in advance. I agree to pay for wait time at the normal hourly rate for any delay that is outside of Moving Buddies control.
_________I consent to photo, video, and audio documentation at any point during my move, for the purposes of quality control.
_________I understand that it is my responsibility to control my important items and documents (i.e. medication, cash, jewelry)
_________I understand that Moving Buddies cannot move hazardous materials, weapons, infested items, or personal valuables.
I hereby agree to these terms/conditions, and endorse the Moving Buddies Protection Agreement, and Indemnity Agreement.
